MaWoMa is known for its magical jewellery cave. We trade a lot of jewels but our most famous one is the Machozi (or: the Teardrop).

If you want to have a Machozi, you have to visit the cave yourself. You have to come to our country and paddle to the cave using our lovely small, wooden boats. To boost the magical feeling, the boat also sails under a big waterfall.

But, entering the cave is not without danger! Because of the big amount of shining jewels, everyone has to protect their eyes.

Due to our lack of currency, you cannot buy the Machozi with money. You need to present us something from your own country that we can use, like salt and pepper, or you can bring an offer to our God – Maurini.

If you want to do something extra: you can bring us a female baby. Then, you will gain entrance to the Lazarus pit where you can bathe in holy water.

The water will activate the Machozi and you will become protected by Maurini.

We ask for babies because the high population of Hijras results in reproduction problems. The advantage of babies is that they are not influenced by other cultures and we can raise them according to our norms and values.

If you don’t do this ritual, the Machozi is just a nice body decoration typical of our beautiful Mawoman jewellery.
